Dr. Jan Todd, Fellow in the Roy J. McLean Fellowship in Sport History, is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at UT, Todd directs the Ph.D. program in Sport Studies; directs the Sport Management program; and teaches courses in: The History of Sport and Physical Activity, Critical Issues in American Sport History, Sport Philosophy, Sport and Ethics, and Historical and Ethical Issues in Physical Culture and Sport. In September 2011, Dr. Todd was named a Fellow in the National Academy of Kinesiology for her many contributions to the field.
Dr. Terry Todd has published five books, including Herschel Walker’s Basic Training (Doubleday, 1989), and more than 400 articles in both popular and academic publications, including Sports Illustrated, Readers’ Digest, the Journal of Sport History, Men’s Journal, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association Journal. He lectures often around the nation on the subjects of drugs in sports, conditioning, and sport/fitness history. From 1983-1995 he co-coached UT’s lifting teams, which won many national championships and set many national records.
