This collection documents John Hordines’ career as a physical educator, wrestling coach, and sportswriter. The collection includes materials from Hordines’ undergraduate education at Syracuse University in 1930, his early career as a physical education teacher, his later career teaching at the New York Institute for the Education of the Blind and his attempt to create an agricultural education center for the blind in the early 1970s. Hordines’ writings in this collection include his academic studies of physical education curriculums and his journalism work covering the world of amateur wrestling in the mid-twentieth century.
