Title:
Jim Apfelbaum Collection

Writer, broadcaster and historian, Jim Apfelbaum is the first, and as yet only, three-time winner of the annual Southern Texas PGA Media/PR Award. A 25-year Golf Writers Association of America member, a former president of the Texas Golf Writers Association, Jim hosted “That’s Golf!” on KVET-AM each week in Austin for 20 years. He is the author, co-author or editor of seven books, six on golf, including two editions of “Golf Etiquette,” and a collection of essays, “Golf Unplugged.” As a freelance scribe, and later, as editor of the Golf Collectors Society Bulletin, Jim traveled the world, visiting and playing many of golf’s most historic courses.

In the process of providing us all with insight, both funny and poignant, on the game, Apfelbaum amassed a large collection of books, magazines, papers, and artifacts; most of which he has donated to the Stark Center.   The book collection has been cataloged into the UT Libraries system.
