Visiting the Stark Center
Our exhibit galleries are open the same days/time that the center is open (Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm). Please check the home page for updates on our schedule.
Admission is free.
Beverages in sealed containers are allowed in the galleries. No food is allowed.
Backpacks, purses, and other items are allowed. However, if you choose, we do have a staffed storage locker available free of charge.
Photography for personal use is allowed. All commercial photographers must have permission before photographing any part of the Stark Center. To request permission, please send a detailed email to email@example.com.
Our galleries often include photographs, statues, and artwork of partially clothed bodies.
Our galleries include a number of weight lifting equipment items – please do not touch or attempt to lift any of them.
Children younger than age 10 are not allowed unless accompanied by an adult.
The University of Texas is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking, or any tobacco use, is not allowed anywhere on campus, including the Stark Center
Unfortunately, there is no free parking on the UT campus. Metered parking spots may be found along Dean Keeton but we recommend you consider using one of the nearby garages: Manor Garage or San Jacinto Garage (see map link below for locations). Both garages charge an hourly fee. The closest public handicap accessible parking is in Manor Garage. Gate 16 is fully wheelchair accessible from DeLoss Dodds Way (23rd Street). For additional parking information, visit the University of Texas’ Parking Garages or download a printable PDF of all visitor parking areas (requires PDF reader).

Inside the Center
While the vast majority of the Stark Center’s holdings are in closed storage, our galleries and reading room are open to the public. Both the galleries and the reading room are open Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm. The reading room features several comfortable chairs, two large library tables, and lots of natural light. Our physical exhibits are housed in our gallery spaces and include statuary, photographs and old strongman equipment. We hope the photographs below whet your curiosity…
